Teko Prisma MPS-project – Modern Printing Monitoring Using Nubeprint System

Managed Print Service means active document workflow, equipment, and related business-processes control, as well as their optimization. This is a definition given to this type of service by International MPS Association. It implies that clients, who have chosen printing outsourcing, can no longer worry themselves about equipment and supplies. They only pay for copies they have printed. Also by relaying office printing to another company, the customers expect that all the tasks related to it will be performed without their participation.

By becoming MPS-provider, the service company takes on a responsibility of optimizing client’s printing environment and guaranteeing that the client’s spending won’t be growing.

MPS service cannot exist without an information collecting tool, because if you just want to present your customer with a bill, you must know, who has been printing and how many pages have been printed. The data can be either collected manually (which is quite costly), or that can be done automatically. The solution for the second variant can be found in DCA (Data Collection Agent). It is created to collect data from the devices without human intervention, and is a basic instrument to work with MPS project.

While working on its Prisma project Teko Company has chosen Nubeprint system for printing monitoring. This is a unique solution created by Spanish developers. It incorporates more than 10 years of successful work with MPS contracts, where the tasks were – maximum automated data collection about the equipment being serviced, and reducing the number of addresses by users due to proactive work processes.

ITIL the Russian Way or Our Response to WTO

Both individuals and businessmen understand that without IT there is no business. Operative communication, informational support, real-time control with feedback – all this is just a small fraction of what modern informational communicational technologies can present to the user. However, the price of these technologies also increases the dependability on them (it is not surprising that among top-managers there is a popular view, that though we cannot do without IT, we must strive to reduce the damage it brings). That is why reducing ownership costs of IT-support is quite often a first priority for both legal bodies and individuals.

Putting in practice any of the cost reduction method requires building of effective IT services managing system. ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) role in this process can hardly be underestimated. But there are serious problems with ITIL-solutions implementation.

Standardization of Supplies Quality Evaluation

As widely known, each refilled cartridge  has its own end-user, who is not interested, which supplies were used during remanufacturing. The only thing important is that the documents printed with this cartridge be of high quality, and that the yield corresponds with the declared one.

What does the end user mean when he says “cartridge quality”? On the whole we can highlight several important factors influencing the readability of the text. These are the level of text “blackness”, the absence of grey background, the absence of printing defects (dots, spots, etc.). The yield is also important for the user, because the amount of money spent on document printing depends on it.

All those parameters can be evaluated. However, there is a question… How? No doubt every company can develop its own unique technology. But in this case it is not possible to compare your own production with the products of the others. And inaccuracy of the chosen technology can influence the legality of the evaluation. Using standard methods (to which STMC methods serve as an example) relieves you of those complexities. Teko Competence Center uses them in its work.
